Secrets Left Behind

Secrets Left Behind

The more clues they uncover, the more deadly the investigation becomes.

After surviving several attempts on her life, Skye Anderson knows Detective Jake Reed’s suspicions of foul play about the accident that killed her husband must be true. Someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth hidden—and all signs point to a drug ring Skye’s late husband was investigating. Can Jake keep Skye alive and identify the killers pursuing her?

Shannon Redmon does not disappoint in this story of courage, danger, and faith. Through a story of romantic suspense, Shannon shows us the work of God’s hand on Skye and Jake as they face danger, and losing each other, at every turn.

Shannon offers insight about God’s healing power from a scene in Secrets Left Behind

There’s a scene where Jake presents his mother with a dresser he refurbished for her after his abusive father and Jake broke the piece during a past altercation. In the story, Jake repairs the piece to give back to his mother to show her his love, but she turns the gesture back on him saying, “I can’t believe you were able to fix something so broken” and “It’s time to let go of the past, of your father and even of me. Take the dresser you restored and start something fresh and new with Skye.”

She wanted Jake, who let his past dictate his current life, to move forward with the love God had for her son.  Sometimes, I think we’re all like that a little bit. We focus on “fixing what’s broken from our past” instead of accepting the love God gives us right now, free and clear, then letting him do the healing.

Shannon’s Bio:

Shannon Redmon remembers the first grown-up book she checked out from the neighborhood bookmobile. A Victoria Holt novel with romance, intrigue, dashing gentlemen and ballroom parties captivated her attention. For her mother, the silence must have been a pleasant break from non-stop teenage chatter, but for Shannon, those stories whipped up a desire and passion for writing.

Shannon is a Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author and her greatest hope is for her stories to immerse readers into a world of suspense and escape while encouraging faith, hope, and love in Christ. She has three books published by Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense line—Cave of Secrets, Secrets Left Behind, and Mistaken Mountain Abduction. Shannon is also one of the Managing Editors for Acquisitions of Spark Flash Fiction Online Magazine, where she received her first official published byline. She won first place in the Foundation awards, was a runner-up in the Genesis contest and is represented by Tamela Hancock Murray of the Steve Laube Agency.

Blessings,

Shannon
